The Ultimate First Blog

Well, here I am - about 15 months after purchasing this domain and finally mustering the courage to write my first post! I might even delete this later, but here it goes! 

Let me start with a proper introduction. As you might already know, my name is Julianna. My parents chose this name to honor my late Aunt Julie, who passed shortly before I was born. My incredibly stubborn Italian grandmother was adamant that I should not be named Julie, so as a compromise, my parents combined her name, Anna, with Julie. As a child, I was one of the few people with my name, but it is intriguing to see it become more popular as I grow older!

My passion revolves around travel. I thrive on exploring new destinations as well as revisiting familiar ones. If I don't have around 20 trips planned simultaneously, I start to feel incomplete! One place I can never get enough of is the Disney parks. Growing up in San Diego, I was fortunate to be a Disneyland annual passholder. I'd often make the short drive just for a Disneyland clam chowder bread bowl. Now that I live in Phoenix, the parks are less accessible, but my love for Disney remains. 

I'm excited about some upcoming adventures, including trips to Cleveland, Ohio; Boise, Idaho; and New Orleans, Louisiana. However, the trip I'm most thrilled about is to Stockholm and Abisko, Sweden. One of my long-held dreams has been to witness the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. I found an affordable flight to Stockholm and discovered that Abisko, a tiny village with a population of around 80 people is one of the best spots to see the Northern Lights. I booked the flight almost immediately - I am a firm believer in booking first and figuring out the details later! I'll definitely be sharing all about this trip to the Arctic Circle.
